Ingrid HG Østensen works as a bioinformatician and researcher for the Norwegian Mother and Child Cohort Study at the Norwegian Institute of Public Health. She’s involved with different projects using the cohort’s data as well as other projects in need of her expertise. Her work mostly concerns quality control and statistical analysis of data from registries, questioners and different technologies like microarray and genome wide studies. She also participates in projects whose aim is to improve the information technology infrastructure for the researchers at the institute. Her background is from computer science and biology, and she has a Bachelor of Engineering from the Bergen University College and a Master of Science in the field of bioinformatics from the University of Bergen.
